Government restricts military evidence in inquest on IRA gunman
The Government has acted to restrict the evidence of SAS soldiers at an inquest into the death of an IRA gunman who was ambushed and shot dead by undercover soldiers in 1986.
Four SAS men were involved in the incident, in which another IRA member was injured, but only one is to appear at the inquest which opened in Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh, yesterday. All military evidence will be restricted by government instruction.
