Hatton plea
Derek Hatton, former deputy leader of Liverpool city council, pleaded not guilty at Mold Crown Court to three charges of conspiracy to defraud the council. Four co-defendants denied similar charges. A jury was then sworn in for the trial which could last up to six months.
