A lucky EuroMillions ticket-holder could scoop £100 million today.

If a single player wins the draw he or she would rank third in the lottery's UK rich list.

The largest ever prize was a £161 million jackpot won by Colin and Chris Weir, from Largs, Scotland, last July.

And in October 2010 an anonymous ticket-holder won £113 million, becoming the largest lottery winner at the time.

A EuroMillions spokesman said: "A EuroMillions win of £100 million could set you off on a luxury trip which never ends - it would be private jets, super yachts and permanent glamour if one ticket-holder banked the entire jackpot.

"We know big jackpots really capture the public's imagination and this is one of the biggest ever offered in this country."

According to The Sunday Times Rich List 2011, the winner of a £100 million jackpot would become joint 703rd richest person in the country with rock'n'roll legend David Bowie.

They would move ahead of celebrity couples such as Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne (£95 million) and Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin (£48 million).

If nobody matches all five main numbers and two Lucky Stars to win the jackpot it will roll to the next draw on October 11.
