A survivor of the 7/7 London terror attacks had an emotional reunion with the policeman who saved her life on Monday.

Gill Hicks, who lost both of her legs in the suicide bombing on the Piccadilly line, broke down in tears as she embraced PC Andrew Maxwell outside King’s Cross station.

This is the moment when they reunited.

PC Maxwell managed to get Ms Hicks to safety by using a makeshift stretcher to carry her out of a Tube tunnel so she could receive emergency medical treatment.

Their reunion came as Ms Hicks participated in a walk from King’s Cross to Tavistock Square with faith leaders promoting religious unity ahead of the anniversary of the attacks.

There will be a minutes silence today at 11.30am to mark the tenth anniversary of the terrorist attacks in which 52 people were murdered and hundreds injured when four suicide bombers attacked London’s transport network.
