A professor injured in the London 7/7 bombings and facing expulsion from Britain has won his fight to remain in the country.

Professor John Tulloch, from the Vale of Glamorgan, was born to British parents in India before independence but was deemed a "British subject without citizenship".

Earlier this year, he was warned he could no longer permanently remain in Britain as he did not own a British passport. But yesterday, after a sustained media campaign, the Home Office confirmed his application for citizenship had been granted.
