Bouncer dismissed after New Years Eve incident

Video has emerged showing a bouncer stamping on a reveller’s head during New Year’s Eve celebrations in Ireland.

The incident took place at Matt The Millers Bar & Restaurant in Kilkenny City.

The mobile phone footage shows the partygoer grounded on the floor by one bouncer before another comes over and appears to stamp on his head.

The second clip shows the man being pushed head first towards the floor.

The final clip shows the bouncers bundling the man to the floor, away from the venue.

The videos were uploaded onto Facebook by eyewitness Joe Maher; and the clips have been viewed over 650,000 times.

Matt the Millers Bar & Restaurant released a statement on their Facebook page on Saturday deploring the actions of the bouncers.

“Firstly we wish to say, we are completely disgusted and horrified by the actions of the individuals who were acting completely outside the remit of their engagement as Independent Security Personnel, employed by Tiger Security Ltd. These individuals have been immediately dismissed by Tiger Security Ltd.”

“We abhor violence of any form and are treating this incident in the most serious manner possible. We have reported this incident directly to the Gardai (Irish police force) ourselves, whom we have met and are complying fully with this investigation. We are also in in direct contact with the other relevant parties.”
