Boy, 2, 'critical' after pool accident
A two-year-old boy was in critical condition after being found unconscious at the bottom of a swimming pool as England played their World Cup game against the USA on Saturday evening.
The toddler was submerged in the pool at the Abshot country club near Fareham, in Hampshire, which he had been attending with his parents.
A doctor treated him before he was taken to Southampton general hospital by ambulance, where he was in intensive care.
Hampshire police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. An ambulance, paramedics and a doctor arrived at the scene within minutes of the 999 call. The country club declined to comment on the incident.
