British spy exposed by wife over secret gay sex near MI6 HQ

His wife fears he could be susceptible to blackmail

A British spy has been exposed by his wife after allegedly having sex near the headquarters of MI6 and his army base.

The intelligence officer is reportedly a leading expert in identifying "high-value" targets in terror organisations and has taken part in operations against al-Qaeda and Isis.

He was reported to military commanders by his wife, who raised fears he would be susceptible to blackmail by hostile intelligence services.

The case was raised in a military divorce heard in court, reported by the Daily Telegraph.

The wife said she became suspicious when she discovered pornography on her husband's phone, along with evidence he had used gay dating websites.

After challenging him during a phone call when he was stationed abroad, he admitted he had engaged in casual sex with men near where he worked.

“When I found out what he had been doing my world fell apart,” she told the paper.

In a letter to military commanders, she wrote: "I found out what my husband was doing very easily. Imagine what trained people could do with this information."

MI6 reportedly stressed the man did not work for intelligence services, and an Army spokesman said it takes "the welfare of its personnel extremely seriously and has provided appropriate support to the soldier and his family".
