Commuters suffer disrupted journeys to work during rush-hour on the Tube

There were severe delays on the District line and hold-ups on the Hammersmith & Circle line

Tube travellers had badly-disrupted journeys to work today.

A signal problem at Tower Hill led to suspension, for a time, of clockwise services on the Circle line and also to severe delays on the District line and hold-ups on the Hammersmith & Circle line.

To add to commuters' difficulties on a wet and windy day, there were rush-hour problems on the Victoria line which was suspended between Victoria and Highbury & Islington due to a person under a train.

London Underground apologised to passengers for the disruption, saying that the signal failure had been between Tower Hill and Monument stations.

LU added that in the Victoria line incident a person had been freed from under a train at Warren Street station and was treated on site before being removed by ambulance.
