Faith in Irish talks

SIR Patrick Mayhew, the Northern Ireland Secretary, and Dick Spring, the Irish Foreign Minister, declared faith in the future of inter-party, cross-border discussions. Sir Patrick, who met Mr Spring in Dublin, emphasised the importance of a gradual build-up to negotiations.
