A video of a Russian Military choir giving an impassioned rendition of the theme tune to Skyfall, has gone viral after James Bond’s traditional adversaries performed on breakfast TV in St Petersburg.

The lead singer performs with guttural aplomb, pausing with military efficiency to check the accuracy of the lyrics on his clipboard.

Previously known as the Red Army Choir, the Alexandrov Ensemble are the official choir of the armed forces.

After the military frontman’s vibrato opening, his style offering more than a passing nod to James Blunt’s tremulous whine, his military companions roar the chorus, giving a Slavic spin on Adele’s Oscar-winning performance.

Watch their performance on Morning on 5 above.
