Girl, 11, dies after Cornish cliff fall

An 11-year-old girl died in hospital last night after falling from a cliff into a water-filled cave while on holiday with her family at Perranporth in Cornwall.

It is thought that the girl, from Hampshire, had been climbing the cliffs close to a rock pool near the Droskyn Point car park when she lost her footing and fell about 15ft feet. She was airlifted to Treliske Hospital after being treated at the scene by RNLI lifeguards.
