Hostage plea for Khmer Rouge talks
HOSTAGE Mark Slater pleaded last night for the Government to negotiate with the Khmer Rouge for his release from Cambodia. His appeal was made on a two-way radio communication monitored by Cambodians and non-government organisations.
Mr Slater, 28, of Corby, Northants, is being held for ransom with an Australian and a Frenchman. The Foreign Office said Britain's policy was not to pay ransoms.
