Comedian Jimmy Carr has been accused of entering a women-only dressing room and “ogling” and harassing hostesses at an event organised by the scandal-hit Presidents Club.

The 8 Out of 10 Cats presenter hosted a fundraiser for the charity at the Dorchester Hotel in 2015.

A woman working at the hotel that night, who has remained anonymous, has now come forward to claim that Carr made hostesses feel “uncomfortable” on the night to the extent that she reported him to security after he entered a dressing room where the women were changing.

The claims come just days after an undercover Financial Times investigation alleged that men at this year’s Presidents Club fundraiser were touching, harassing and exposing themselves to the hostesses at the event.

“I kept saying, ‘Why does he keep walking through, this is obviously where the girls are getting changed?’” the anonymous woman told The Sun, which is the source of the allegations against Carr.

“I felt uncomfortable around him and his behaviour made me think to myself that it was a bit weird.

“The girls felt that he was ogling them as they got dressed.

“There was no reason for him to be in there. But it seemed that he was using his power and celebrity status to go wherever he liked.

“It did feel uncomfortable and a lot of the girls spoke about it. Lots of other girls felt the same.

“He was a lot older than all of the girls and I haven’t been able to watch him on TV since.”

The Sun‘s anonymous source is said to be a professional woman who works for a number of top media companies.

The Presidents Club has since been forced to close after being condemned in parliament and distanced from by the charities it supported.

Carr is not the only former comedian to be caught up in the scandal, with this year’s host and fellow TV star David Walliams coming under fire, despite releasing a statement denouncing the behaviour of the male guests and not actually being subject of any of the allegations himself.

Labour peer Lord Mendelsohn has also been asked to step back from the frontbench of the House of Lords by Jeremy Corbyn after it was revealed he attended the gala dinner.

The black tie event is said to have been attended by 360 leading figures from business, politics and finance, which allegedly included auction lots for a free lap dance and plastic surgery to “add spice to your wife”, among other things.

The Financial Times also reported that an unnamed “society figure” told a hostess at this year’s event: “I want you to drop that glass [of champagne], rip off your knickers and dance on that table.”

A source also told The Sun: “I thought Jimmy acted in a thoroughly professional manner that night and seemed impeccably behaved throughout the evening.

“He was very popular among the audience for his performance.”

The Independent has tried to contact Carr’s representatives for comment.
