Man dies on Channel swim

A 45-year-old man from Ireland has died while attempting to swim the English Channel.

Paraic Casey, from Cork, became ill just a mile away from reaching the French coast yesterday morning. The Channel Swimming and Piloting Federation said he had been passed fit by his doctor.
