Man injured after crashing Lamborghini into Stockport garden

The driver of a Lamborghini supercar was fighting for his life today after the vehicle left the track of an airfield and flipped upside down into the garden of a house.

Police were called to the scene in Stockport, Greater Manchester, shortly after 11am yesterday following reports a hired sports car had been in a crash.

They found the Lamborghini on its roof in the garden of a nearby house having left the track at Woodford Aerodrome.

The driver, a 58-year-old man was taken to hospital where his condition is described as critical.

A 21-year-old man suffered minor bruising and has been discharged from hospital.

Greater Manchester Police said no other vehicles were involved.

Sergeant Danny Byrne from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "We believe the vehicle was being driven at a high speed and it is likely the driver may have lost control.

"Members of the family are being comforted by specially trained officers at this difficult time."
