Man v horse
A STALLION called Eskalabar preserved the honour of his species when it beat the first human by 17 minutes in a man against horse marathon. The annual race at Llanwrtyd Wells, Powys, offers pounds 15,000 for the first runner who beats the horses - a feat not yet achieved since it started in 1980. Bookmakers offered odds of 33/1 against a two-legged victory.
