A three-year-old boy sparked a major scare this afternoon after he went missing while out with his mother. But he was found safe and well three hours later after climbing on a bus to Bolton.

Lee Loram was with his mother and brother in the Market Hall in Blackburn, Lancs, when he vanished at around 12.40pm.

Lancashire Police scrambled the force helicopter, which hovered over the centre of the town.

Police foot patrols were also on the lookout for the missing youngster.

It is not known if Lee was snatched or simply wandered off from his mother.

Police asked for the public's help in trying to find the youngster and issued a description.

Lee is described as white, with short dark brown hair, brown eyes, a pale complexion and wearing a grey and blue jumper.
