Mosque massacres rock Pakistan
Masked gunmen killed 20 worshippers in dawn raids on two Shi'ite mosques in Karachi, Pakistan. Shi'ite mobs seeking revenge later went on the rampage. The attacks are the bloodiest in a series of tit-for-tat killings in the city between Sunni and Shi'ite factions in the last month in which 153 people have died.
Meanwhile, two Christians, one aged only 14, who had faced death before being acquitted of blasphemy, were yesterday freed.
