Police are hunting a "high-risk" paedophile who disappeared from a sex offenders' clinic.

They have issued a warrant for the arrest of John McCormack, 23, who is believed to be in hiding in Northampton or Bournemouth.

He was being treated at a clinic in Epsom after his conviction for sexual offences against children.

McCormack, of Kettering, Northamptonshire, was released from prison on licence on condition he followed the treatment programme.

A Surrey Police spokeswoman said: "A warrant has been issued for the his arrest. He is in breach of his prison licence.

"Anyone who knows his whereabouts should contact police. He is a high-risk sex offender."

He is subject to a sex offender's order by Northampton Magistrates Court banning him from contacting children under 16.
