DETECTIVES hunting the murderer of a gay former soldier who fought in the Falklands War yesterday released a recording of a caller who tipped police off about the killing.

John Fanning, 38, with the Royal Green Jackets until 1985, was found in his flat in west London, on Friday.

In Scotland, detectives are attempting to regain contact with a woman who may have information about the murder of depute procurator fiscal Marshall Stormonth, 34, who police believe was homosexual.
