Norfolk police force is considering ditching Swat-style uniforms in favour of a collar and tie.
From January, 47 officers from Norfolk’s Wymondham Safer Neighbourhood Team will take part in a trial of white shirts, and will no longer use black zip-up polo shirts and combat trousers.
Research has shown that the public regard the traditional image as “more professional, honest and approachable”, a spokeswoman said.
