Protesters complete replica Jarrow March

Protesters from north-east England arrived in Trafalgar Square, London, yesterday at the end of their re-enactment of the 1936 Jarrow March.

The march against youth unemployment, which began on 1 October, tried to replicate the route of the 200 jobless men who completed it 75 years ago, carrying a petition calling for action to create jobs. The rally coincided with a diverted march by the Occupy London movement.
