Freddie Astbury, 33, a Thalidomide victim, ended his hunger strike after five days. He halted his protest over the level of compensation he receives from the Thalidomide Trust Fund set up by Distillers, the firm that sold the pregnancy drug in the UK, after managers from Guinness, which took over Distillers, agreed to talks with him and other victims.
