The Scottish National Portrait Gallery bought an 1822 portrait of Patrick Grant, a veteran of Culloden who lived to the age of 111, for pounds 20,350. It was among 2,000 Jacobite paintings, pieces of furniture, miniatures and jewellery from Fingask Castle, Perthshire.
