A policeman jailed five days ago for two cases of drink-driving was free last night after a judge heard of his 'exemplary' record before personal problems caused him to start drinking heavily. PC Paul Aspery, 33, of Great Ayton, North Yorkshire, was given two years' probation to replace the four-month prison sentence imposed by Teesside magistrates.
