Modernisation of the Labour Party has failed to improve its popularity, according to pater hain, a leading critic in the Tribune group of MPs. Mr Hain, writing in Fabian Review, said the subtext of the modernisers was that John Smith should be replaced by a younger man, but it was his belief that the party needed more radical policies.
