Law Update: Proposed fee rise

A proposal that the practising certificate fee should rise by no more than 1 per cent is to be discussed by the Law Society's council next week. If the measure is approved by the council, the fee will rise by pounds 5 to pounds 485. Last year's increase was 14.3 per cent.
