Man is remanded in Nickell murder case

Colin Stagg, 30, unemployed, of Roehampton, south-west London, was remanded in custody for seven days when he appeared before Wimbledon magistrates yesterday charged with the murder of Rachel Nickell in July 1992.

Ms Nickell, 23, was stabbed 49 times in front of her son Alex, then two, on Wimbledon Common.
