Latest aerial footage shows the M20 completely gridlocked as Operation Stack is in full effect.

Take a look at this GoPro aerial footage which shows the long queues at the Ashford end of Operation Stack.

Operation Stack, which has shut the M20 between junctions eight and 11 for stationary lorries, is expected to remain in place over the weekend.

It has been reported that British troops may be involved in an operation to ease the traffic congestion in the area. The Ministry of Defence could use land around Folkestone as a temporary parking space, allowing some relief for the heavily congested motorway.

David Cameron has returned to the UK following his four-day tour of South East Asia. The Prime Minister is chairing an emergency Cobra meeting today to discuss the crisis.
