Owner of manor wins libel case
Harry Hyams, a property investor, was given a public apology and 'substantial' undisclosed libel damages over a newspaper article which suggested an outbreak of crime in a village was heralded by his purchase of the local manor.
The High Court was told that Mr Hyams had lived at Ramsbury Manor in Wiltshire for almost 30 years and arrived in the village 20 years before the events described in the Guardian article last September.
