A motorist was fined pounds 1,000 by an Old Bailey judge yesterday after admitting shooting dead a car salesman who accused him of 'inconsiderate parking'.

Barry Crane, 34, was cleared of murder and manslaughter on Judge Kenneth Richardson's direction that he acted in self defence when he was threatened with a knife.

Crane's fine was for possessing a firearm without a certificate, a charge he admitted.
