PC in shootings inquiry released

A POLICEMAN questioned after his wife and two children were shot dead at their home was under psychiatric care after being released yesterday without charge.

Constable John Torney, of Cookstown, Co Tyrone, has denied firing the shots that killed his wife Linda, 33, son John, 13, and daughter Emma, 11, RUC sources close to the investigation said. Inquiries are continuing.
