A peace protester who caused more than pounds 90,000 damage when he broke into a British Aerospace plant and daubed peace slogans on walls, computers and other equipment was given an eight-month jail sentence for causing criminal damage.

St Albans Crown Court was told that Chris Cole, 30, of Oxford, poured blood over drawings and damaged planes. He said the company was the largest arms manufacturer in Europe and 'the source of much bloodshed and misery throughout the world'. He was freed as he had spent 5 1/2 months on remand.
