Trevor Glover, Penguin's managing director in the UK, resigned "by mutual agreement" days after the announcement of 75 redundancies. Pearson, which owns Penguin, saw a reduction in half-year profits in August to pounds 50.5m, nearly pounds 20m less than in the same period last year.
