The High Court ruled that a pit-bull terrier should be destroyed because it was found unmuzzled and not on a lead in a car. The dog's owner, Henry Bates, 37, of Clapton, north-east London, argued that the inside of a car was not a public place under the Dangerous Dogs Act. The court ruled that the law applied when the car was taken into a public place.
