Footage of a seagull attacking a toddler can be seen in the background of a BBC General Election interview in Fife

The video clip shows the Editor of Fife Free press, Alan Crowe, responding to a question on the general election.

“Labour seems to be struggling a little bit. It’s reflecting the national picture to a large extent. Local issues don’t really come into it right now. It’s about the national side of it,” he says to the camera.

As the interview is being carried out two adults and a toddler walk into the camera shot as a seagull dives at the toddler from behind.

The child winces and a loud noise can be heard.

The bird then attempted to swoop in a second time, only to be waved away by the woman accompanying the child.

Mr Crowe seemed unfazed by the disturbance.
