Jeremy Corbyn's campaign agent John McDonnell tells volunteers: 'You've changed the world'
'Thank you for what you’ve done. You’ve changed the world today,' he told Corbyn's 16,000 volunteers
Jeremy Corbyn’s 16,000 volunteers have been told they have “changed the world” at an after-party following the Labour leadership result.
John McDonnell, Mr Corbyn’s campaign agent and potential shadow chancellor, told a packed pub of campaign staff that the remarkable landslide victory could not have happened without the “absolute dedication and support and activity and commitment and courage at times of all of you”.
“Thank you for what you’ve done. You’ve changed the world today,” he said. “You’ve changed the Labour party and you’ve opened up a whole opportunity now to change our country now as well and I just think you should congratulate yourselves.”
