Local elections 2017: Labour Welsh Assembly member distances himself from Jeremy Corbyn
Vaughan Gething said the Labour leader was getting mixed messages on the doorstep
A Labour Welsh Assembly member has appeared to distance his party from Jeremy Corbyn in an awkward radio interview.
Vaughan Gething was asked about his party leader on BBC Radio 4 and began talking about Welsh First Minister Carwyn Jones, who is the leader of Welsh Labour.
Mr Gething said that Mr Jones was "an asset in these elections".
When challenged on what he thought of Mr Corbyn Mr Gething said voters gave "mixed messages" about the UK leader on the doorstep.
