Bridleway: The Secretary of State for the Environment last night approved the Pennine Bridleway - Britain's longest - having accepted all modifications proposed by the Countryside Commission, it was disclosed in a written reply. The Department of the Environent said: "Walkers, horse riders and cyclists will be able to enjoy previously inaccessible countryside. The bridleway is expected to bring significant economic benefits to local people."
