Tebbit 'flea' warning to Osborne

Lord Tebbit pitched into the escalating row over George Osborne today, bluntly telling him: If you sleep with dogs, you will get fleas.

The former Tory chairman spoke out as Mr Osborne faced further questions over the claim that a discussion took place in Corfu with Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska over a substantial donation to the Conservative Party.

Lord Tebbit said: "I find it very hard to believe that he could have been so foolish as to solicit a financial contribution from such a man, knowing that it would risk being an unlawful contribution.

"On the other hand, one has to say that George Osborne should remember that those who sleep with dogs will get fleas."
