Government chief whip Andrew Mitchell allegedly released a foul-mouthed tirade on police outside Downing Street on Wednesday, when they refused to let him cycle out of the main gate.

Although the 56-year-old denies the exact wording, The Sun reports that he called police officers guarding the gates "plebs" before telling them "learn your f****** place".

This is not the first time a politician has lost their cool in public though. From Boris talking "b*****ks" to Blair on the "f***ing Welsh", perhaps those vying for power should be a bit more careful not to get their feet stuck in their mouths.
