Pounds 8,000 toothache

A patient was left with pus-ridden gums after pounds 8,000 worth of implant treatment, the General Dental Council's professional misconduct board was told. Dentists Robert Preston, of Eastbourne, East Sussex, and Edwin Scher, of Marylebone, central London, both performed surgery on a 53-year-old Iranian businessman even though he had infected gums, it was said. Both deny serious professional misconduct.
