Probation for man who killed wife

A devoted father who battered and strangled his unfaithful wife after she threatened to take away their four children was given three years' probation for manslaughter. Truro Crown Court was told that Nicholas Hall, 35, of Exmouth, snapped after years of humiliation. Mr Justice Buckley said: 'I have never before encountered a more extreme case of persistent provocation or degrading behaviour by a woman towards a man.'
