The RAF is to withdraw search and rescue helicopters from four bases.

The changes, to be phased in from next April, are made possible by the replacement of Wessex helicopters with Sea Kings, which have a longer range. Brawdy in Pembrokeshire, Coltishall in Suffolk, Manston in Kent and Leuchars in Fife, will no longer be used.
