One Glaswegian misses Red Road demolition

Thousands of people gathered on Sunday to witness the final demolition of Glasgow’s iconic Red Road flats. But, for one Glaswegian, it was a moment of intense disappointment.

Not only did Barry Grant miss the demolition but he also forgot to press record on his camera, mistakenly only recording his expletive-filled disappointment.

According to Mr Grant’s comment on his YouTube video, he blames a wasp for the distraction.

“My misses was running about as a wasp was chasing her so was distracted but we where waiting for a Caxton nothing”

Mr Grant’s other comments suggest he remains disappointed.

“i am pmsl at my self what a t*t lol but its funny i am a t*t”

“my first time streaming sorry for the swearing i was a bit peede off”

The controlled explosion was intended to bring down the six remaining tower blocks of Glasgow’s longstanding Red Road flats but large parts of two buildings have remained.

About 1,000 households were temporarily evacuated while the demolition took place.
