'Rogue heroin' fear as seventh victim collapses
A YOUNG woman was yesterday seriously ill in hospital in Bristol, Avon, another apparent victim of a rogue batch of contaminated heroin.
The 21-year-old woman collapsed in the street in the St Paul's area of the city, where the contaminated batch is believed to be circulating.
The drug has already killed two and made four other people ill within the past few weeks. One of the victims, a 16- year-old girl who collapsed in a squat in City Road, St Paul's, last weekend, is still in a 'critical' condition in hospital.
Police have disclosed the six victims collapsed within minutes of taking heroin. Analysis of a recent drug seizure is still awaited to confirm whether or not it was contaminated.
