Shops rejected

The Government overturned planning inquiry recommendations and refused permission for out-of-town shopping centres at Duxford, Cambridgeshire, and Ludlow, Shropshire. John Gummer, Secretary of State for the Environment, said the decisions were 'meant to set examples'.
