That's enough 'That's Life]'

THE BBC is withdrawing the campaigning consumer programme That's Life] after 21 years. Audiences for the show, presented by Esther Rantzen, have fallen from 15 million at its height to as low as 8.4 million.

Miss Rantzen said last night: 'The BBC fully consulted me and I respect their decision. It's been a wonderful opportunity for viewers to fight injustices and have their own platform.'

The BBC said that next year's series, begining in January, will be its last. From autumn 1994, Miss Rantzen will present special reports investigating some of the issues raised by That's Life]

Last night she closed the present series with a celebration of the 80th birthday of Cyril Fletcher, the comedian and announcer.
