Bernard O'Donoghue was born in 1945 in Cullen, Co. Cork. He lives in Oxford, where he teaches at Magdalen College. His poetry books include Poaching Rights (Gallery Press, 1987), The Absent Signifier (Mandeville Press, 1990) and The Weakness (Chatto, 1991).
